  • WHO Issues New Guidelines to Combat Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH): The World Health Organization (WHO), along with the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) and the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM), released new consolidated guidelines to prevent, diagnose, and treat postpartum hemorrhage (severe bleeding after childbirth). The guidelines recommend:
    • Earlier Diagnosis: Clinicians should act when blood loss reaches 300 mL (down from the traditional 500 mL threshold) if abnormal vital signs are observed.
    • The MOTIVE Bundle: Immediate deployment of the MOTIVE bundle (including massage, oxytocics, Tranexamic Acid (TXA), intravenous fluids, vaginal/genital tract examination, and escalation of care) once PPH is diagnosed.
