GHQA Internship Opportunities –
Join Our Global Health Movement!

The Global Health & Quality Alliance (GHQA) is seeking motivated interns to support its mission of advancing global health and health equity.

We are looking for interns

As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in nonprofit leadership, program management, communications, membership engagement, events, and global collaboration while contributing to GHQA’s flagship initiatives:

    • Wednesday Webinars & Workshops
    • GHQA Boards (American Board of Global Health, American Board of Digital Medicine and American Board of Comprehensive Clinical Medicine)
    • Community Sunday Clinics
    • Global & Continental Chapter Networks
  • GHQA Journal & Research Initiatives

Available Internship Roles

1. Director of Programs & Outreach

Reports to: Executive Director (CEO)
Role Summary: Manage, execute, and evaluate GHQA programs including Boards, Webinars, Free Clinics, and working groups; coordinate partnerships and outreach; support grant and proposal development.
Weekly Activities: Track program progress, coordinate Webinars, Sunday Clinics, Board prep activities; maintain partner relationships; assist with proposals and reporting.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or in progress) in Public Health, Global Health, Medicine, or related field
  • Strong interest in global health, clinical medicine, or digital health
  • Program coordination or outreach experience preferred
  • Strong writing and cross-cultural communication skills

2. Director of Communications

Reports to: Executive Director (CEO)
Role Summary: Manage GHQA communications strategy across social media, newsletters, press, and website; promote GHQA Boards, Journal, Webinars, and Clinics.
Weekly Activities: Update social media and website, draft newsletters and announcements, monitor analytics, collaborate with Programs or committees for event promotion.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or in progress) in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
  • Strong writing, editing, and social media skills
  • Graphic design and media relations skills a plus

3. Director of Membership & Engagement

Reports to: Executive Director (CEO)
Role Summary: Manage member lifecycle, engagement, and outreach; support global chapter membership drives; track and report membership metrics.
Weekly Activities: Process applications/renewals, respond to member inquiries, update database, coordinate outreach campaigns, liaise with chapters.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or in progress) in Public Health, Business, or Nonprofit Management
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Database management experience preferred

4. Director of Events & Learning

Reports to: Executive Director (CEO)
Role Summary: Plan and deliver educational events, including Webinars, Board prep sessions, conferences, and training programs.
Daily Activities: Coordinate logistics, manage speakers, prepare event materials, oversee recordings, collect feedback.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or in progress) in Event Management, Public Health, Education, or related field
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with virtual platforms and event coordination

5. Director / Liaison of Global & Continental Chapters

Reports to: Executive Director & Board of Directors
Role Summary: Serve as the main point of contact for GHQA chapters; support growth, alignment, and cross-chapter collaboration.
Weekly Activities: Maintain communication with chapter leads, track activities and membership, provide resources and guidance, coordinate global calendar.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or in progress) in Global Health, International Relations, or Public Health
  • Strong cross-cultural communication skills
  • Experience with NGOs, student associations, or international networks preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace
